Youngs Veterinary Partnership welcomes you to our website...
Jeremy & Karen Young firmly believe that truly caring for the animals trusted to our care is the most important function of our practice. Every member of staff has been chosen for their genuine care for animals and passion for their work. We know how much our pets mean to us and the very special role our pet plays in our family. We would like to become your partner in your pet's health care. We aim to treat your pet as we would our own, "Trust us to care".
Jeremy & Karen Young qualified from Bristol University School of Veterinary Medicine in June 1984 and were married the following year. Since taking over from Mr. Edmonds in 1987 they have strived to develop a high standard, friendly, caring small animal practice, aspiring to be recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a Veterinary Hospital. After a lot of investment, hard work and dedication from all our staff we were very proud that we achieved RCVS "Hospital Status" at our first attempt in 1997.
At our last RCVS inspection in 2013 we again passed our inspection as a Veterinary Hospital. In 2015 we took the difficult decision, to improve the work life balance for our staff, we would allow our night duty staff to leave the premises provided that there were no in-patients overnight. We have a member of nursing staff on site at all times when there are any animals in the hospital under our care. Unfortunately the RCVS Practice Standards insist that a member of staff is on the premises at all times; even if there are no in-patients. We felt that this had no baring on thee quality of care that we provide but please be assured that NOTHING else has changed If an animal is admitted for treatment there will always be a member of staff on the premises 24/7 - even on Christmas Day! We have still remained in the RCVS Practice Standard Scheme and are now listed as a Small Animal Practice.
We like to support the Practice Standards Scheme and would urge anyone to ensure the level of cover (especially out of hours) given to their pets if they are admitted to any practice for treatment, particularly if they are not a hospital.
You can still contact us be telephone in person 24/7 and we still ensure a member of staff stays on the premises for all animals admitted for treatment by the practice. We have also upgraded our fire and intruder alarm system (ADT monitored) and we do now have several members of staff living next door at 146.
We offer consulting rooms with excellent routine care available both in Peterborough and Yarwell. This is backed up by full surgical and diagnostic facilities and separate inpatient dog and cat wards at the Peterborough site. In Peterborough we also have our lovely peaceful Aristocats cattery and an on site groomer. We also have recently introduced our online shop. For over 20 years we've been helping animals from Peterborough ,Stamford, Oundle, Werrington, Hampton and Newborough, as well as the greater East Anglia.
Our website offers loads of information about our vets, our veterinary staff, our practice, our philosophy, our services, helpful forms to assist you and an extensive Pet Medical Library for you to search for additional pet health care information. This is an international information service and unrivalled in its content. It is constantly updated and reviewed by experts in every field.
We hope you will let us share in the care of your pets!
